Trainee CAD Technician

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Recoturbo is one of the UK’s premier turbocharger remanufacturers. We have a modern purpose built 10,000 square feet site in Doncaster. We are looking for a Trainee CAD Technician.

As a Trainee CAD Technician, you will be working with our Faro Gage arm and its associated software to develop CAD modelling of our products and components to assist in our procurement and quality control processes.

What we are looking for in a Trainee CAD Technician

As a trainee CAD technician, you will be an integral part of our research, development and quality control drive.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning and a keen eye for detail. Not afraid to work alone or as part of a team, they will welcome a challenge and not be afraid to learn new things. An ability to problem solve and think outside the box is desirable.

Full training will be provided on the use of the Faro Arm and software.

Responsibilities

Using the Faro Arm to map 3D reference points on products and components.

Implementation and integration of 3D reference point checking as part of our production quality control processes.

Being involved in research and development projects based around CAD and our Faro Arm technology.

Requirements

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
• A passion for accuracy
• Proficient I.T. skills with a working knowledge of CAD programs such as AutoCad and Aberlink3D would be beneficial.
• Previous work in a CMM environment or with a Faro Arm would be a distinct advantage
• An interest in mechanical engineering

Hours

Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30

Salary

Negotiable based upon experience and satisfactory completion of any probationary period. £22,000 - £25,000 p.a. 12 month contract including a probationary period of 3 months with a possible move to permanent contract after 12 months.
