Role Overview & Responsibilities

Apprenticeship Support Officer

£27,342 - £29,400 per annum pro rata dependent on location

Permanent, part time, 15 hours per week

Homebased in the UK with periodic travel to the London office

The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) champions the power of planning in creating prosperous places and vibrant communities. We represent over 27,000 members worldwide, supporting them throughout their careers. We shape planning policy, raise professional standards and are the only body in the UK to confer Chartered status to planners, the highest professional qualification.

This role will place you at the heart of the education agenda for the professional body for urban planners and help you develop skills and experience in administration, organisational management and policy implementation.

This is an exciting time to join the RTPI as we update our education programmes and outreach activities to increase the pipeline of planning students and qualified professionals. Urban (town and country) planning is both an academic discipline and vocational subject that is at the heart of shaping places, achieving sustainable development, and supporting the delivery of safe secure housing for all. It has a social, environmental and economic purpose.

Some experience of administration work, delivering good customer service and working well in a team, including the ability to use own initiative and attention to detail are key skills and experience for this role. Knowledge of apprenticeship policies and processes and experience of operating software for virtual and hybrid meetings and events would also be beneficial.

RTPI has a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment which actively operates a policy of helping its employees at all levels to achieve professional growth. We seek to foster a collaborative and respectful work environment which promotes equality, diversity and inclusion.
