Role Overview & Responsibilities

Business: SARIA’s operations in the UK are active in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group’s companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company also produces biofuels and renewable energy and provides services for farming and the food industry. The company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country.

The Position

Applications are invited to apply for the position of Quality Technician based at our SecAnim, Widnes site. This is a full time, permanent, position, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

As a Quality Technician your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company’s requirements but will include:

  • Managing changes to the Quality Systems - HCCAP systems.
  • Working within schedules.
  • Responsible for accurate document control systems.
  • Accurately updating changes to Quality Systems documents.
  • Following Group Quality audit schedules and ensuring responses are received.
  • Willingness to engage with training and development in relation to any relevant opportunities identified by the Company.
  • Promoting HACCP principles throughout the Group.
  • Carrying out Internal Audits including GMP audits as required.
  • Assisting with the development and understanding of Food Hygiene Standards and Practices and GMP throughout the Group.
  • Assisting with the development and understanding of Accreditation standards used within the Group and carry out audits as required.
  • Assisting with day-to-day tasks in the Laboratory, including routine testing of samples as required.
  • Housekeeping on the plant and to load lorries as and when required.
  • Completing checks on equipment and procedures, along with ensuring processes / procedures are followed accurately.
  • Accurately recording and maintaining results, ensuring records are in accordance with accredited guidelines.
  • Ability to analyse results and highlight any discrepancies to the appropriate people.
  • To undertake basic administrative duties.

The Person

  • Experience of working within a manufacturing/factory environment. Previous experience working with Quality Systems - HACCP systems.
  • Previous experience within a Quality environment.
  • The ability to produce reports and communicate findings effectively
  • Competent at analysing data
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Be self-motivated and have a pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • To be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Able to drive a Forklift Truck would be advantageous but training can be provided.
