Role Overview & Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for an eager candidate to support in an busy art studio in Soho.

KEYS AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Building

  • To run any general errands required both in and outside of the studio Regular stock taking/ordering for materials and consumables used for each of the studio departments
  • Receive and unpack general deliveries to the building and ensure they are then received by the appropriate people.
  • Monitoring of recycling and waste products requiring special uplift.
  • General maintenance/upkeep including making sure the studio is tidy and organised.
  • Supporting with basic health and safety checks such as monthly first aid checks, fire extinguisher checks and any other checks that are required.
  • Research costs and find cheaper alternatives where applicable.

Artwork

  • General packing/unpacking of Items arriving to and leaving the studio.
  • General moving of artworks and items within the studio as requested.
  • Preparation for the production of artworks.
  • Assistance with production of artworks as needed.
  • Deliveries of artworks and other items between studios
  • Support painting team during high volumes of work such as stretching/priming, framing and packing artwork

Transport

  • Assisting in the errands carried out by the studio van, loading/unloading, checking deliveries and shipments.
  • Carry out vehicle checks

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of using basic tools.
  • Proficient on MACS and use of Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Reliability and efficiency
  • Adaptable to a multitude of tasks including manual handling.
  • Ability to approach all tasks in a cost-conscious way and being aware of budgets.

Salary: £20,000.00-

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
