Production Operative

Role Overview & Responsibilities

St Ewe Free Range Eggs is a family owned and run food production business and we farm sustainably, employ locally, are environmentally conscious and work hard to make sure that we have a minimum impact on the world’s resources. We are proudly RSPCA Assured, Red Lion Code accredited and Vegetarian Society approved meaning our multi award-winning produce comes from high welfare hens, who deliver high quality, delicious tasting free-range eggs to the market. We are looking for a pro-active, organised, self-motivated and ambitious Production Operative to join our growing team. T

Main duties and responsibilities

• ·Loading incoming eggs from producer farms.
• Monitoring egg quality.
• Lining up correct packaging to the machinery for the correct range of eggs.
• Be proactive and plan ahead for following packing requirements.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Date code required products.
• Box finished goods and palletise.
• Clean as you go and end of day hygiene tasks.
• Packing eggs into boxes and onto trays from the fast-moving conveyor belt.

Skills Required:

• Great communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise workload and remain organised.

Attainment:

• GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of food production practices.

Relevant Experience:

• Previous experience in a similar role

Disposition:

• Able to work as part of a team
• Able to work with limited supervision
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work on own initiative to meet deadlines.

Other:

• Positive personality.
• Friendly disposition.

Salary due to increase in April. Benefits include access to Simply Health Scheme, Birthday Celebrations, Team days, Free eggs.

Due to bio-security, applicants must not have poultry at home.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £10.00 per hour
