Trainee CAD Technician

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Stock Sweepers Ltd is a leading UK Manufacturer of Heavy Duty Road Sweepers. We are based in Cinderford, Gloucestershire.

We are looking for a Trainee CAD Assistant to join our friendly team.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9.30 am to 5.30 pm.

Job Overview

You will be working alongside our CAD team to create manufacturing drawings for all aspects of the road sweeper, as well as updating drawings with annotations and weld symbols.

This position is a fantastic opportunity for any IT-minded individual who wishes to develop their career in an exciting and innovative company. This role will allow the right candidate to learn about - and take control of various aspects of CAD.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Keeping all CAD documents up to date with current specifications.
• Annotating drawings to show manufacturing notes and weld symbols.
• Keeping a record of issued drawings provided to the welding workshop via the use of Microsoft Excel.
• Updating GA models and drawings to aid final assembly of welded components.
• Designing new products inline with the company schedule & development process.
• Providing our design department with rendered models for our technical manuals.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• A sound working knowledge of computers and an overall interest in IT.
• A good approach to problem solving and Googling.
• A flexible approach to work, being able to prioritise an ever-changing workload.
• A friendly individual who would be comfortable in an open-office environment.

Beneficial

• Good understanding of mechanical machines such as automobiles of various nature.
• Experience of fabricated products to aid in the manufacture of new components.
• Design experience to aid in development of new components.
• General understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Any IT-related qualifications.
