Role Overview & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will join us at a seminal moment as we prepare to significantly transform Stockton town centre, creating a massive public space which connects our High Street with the riverside, helping unlock the leisure potential of the Tees.

An exciting opportunity has been created for an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual to join the Council’s successful Events Service. We need someone to help shape our future programme of extraordinary and unexpected event experiences for residents, businesses and visitors.

We are looking for a highly experienced event professional who will drive excellence across all aspects of event design, safety and production, including the development of key policies, processes and safe systems of working.

In addition, the post holder will provide senior management capacity in proactively shaping the development the Council’s Event Strategy, including the creation of new events of scale which support the cultural, environmental and economic ambitions of the Council.

You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering safe high profile multi-faceted public events, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and professionals. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you be able to think creatively and develop cohesive plans and strategies.

You will have extensive and well-developed skills and experience working with key partners, contractors and event professionals, building successful relationships within multiple contexts to realise the Council’s strategic objectives for largescale outdoor events and festivals.
