We are now recruiting a Greenkeeper to join our team at The Abbey Hotel.

As a Greenkeeper, you are responsible for carrying out all golf course maintenance to departmental standards set by the Cluster Golf and Greens Manager. We want a dedicated individual who oozes confidence and shows genuine sincerity for their team and every guest that walks through our doors.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• To undertake the following tasks to the departmental standard, ensuring that all work methods comply with current Health & Safety Legislation at all times:

o Mowing: banks, rough, semi rough, fairways, surrounds & approaches, tees

o Grounds and putting surfaces.

o Applying top dressing, fertiliser/turf conditioner

o Repairing divot holes

o Irrigating turf

o Pesticide application (if qualified to do so)

o Weed, moss identification and control, pest control

o Renovation and repair of turf

o Strimming (bunkers, round tree’s, tee furniture, ditches, tee banks and steps)

o Raking of bunkers on a daily basis

o Hedge cutting around hotel and on the golf course.

• To be conversant with all golf rules and etiquette that applied for the course and advise the supervisor on duty of any golfers breaking these rules.
• To use the knowledge and skills acquired during Greenkeeping to advise your line manager of any issues/problems around the grounds that may need rectification e.g. trees that are not stable.
• To ensure use of protective clothing, equipment and devices provided.

Salary: £10.52 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Redditch: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Greenkeeping: 1 year (preferred)
