Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Cavalry & Guards Club is a Private Members Club who represents history, tradition, timeless elegance and quiet efficiency plus that all important personal touch. This gracious building, which more a home than an institution, is situated at the Hyde Park corner end of Piccadilly, in the heart of Mayfair, with wonderful views of Green Park.

The purpose of a Cafeteria Cook is to prepare, cook and serve food for staff in a cafeteria in accordance with established recipes and standards. This role involves following all food safety protocols, ensuring high standards of hygiene are maintained in the kitchen. The Cafeteria Cook will be responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared and cooked to the highest quality and is presented in a timely and professional manner. They will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and cooking meals for staff in a busy environment
  • Ensuring all food safety regulations are adhered to
  • Carrying out basic cleaning duties
  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals in a cafeteria setting
  • Plan menus in consultation with supervisors and other staff
  • Order food supplies and other items as required
  • Ensure that proper hygiene standards are followed in the kitchen
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Prepare, cook, and present meals according to health and safety guidelines
  • Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner
  • Keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean
  • Monitor portion sizes, food presentation and quality
  • Keep records of food costs
