Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Clays Practice is looking to recruit 2 dispensers to work in our busy, but friendly dispensary.

Position A: 30.75 Hours

Monday 08.15-17.30

Tuesday 08.15-12.45

Wednesday 09.15-19.00

Friday 08.15-17.00

Position B: 33.75 Hours

Tuesday 10.30-19.00

Wednesday 08.15-17.30

Thursday 08.15-17.30

Friday 09.15-18.00

The applicants will ideally have a minimum of NVQ2 for dispensing assistants (or equivalent), but we will consider an enthusiastic non-qualified applicant.

Knowledge of SystmOne would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be given. The applicant should be computer literate and have excellent customer service skills. We have 6500 dispensing patients across 3 sites, Roche, Bugle and St Dennis.

Duties to include:

• Issuing and dispensing repeat and acute medications
• Ordering medications via wholesaler
• Ensuring drug orders are received and stored within accordance of manufacturer’s instructions
• Maintaining the cold chain where necessary
• Maintain accurate and full records of all dispensary transactions
• Collection of prescription charges and checking exemptions
• Undertaking other reasonable duties as directed by the Dispensary Manager
• Issuing and dispensing of controlled drugs in accordance with CD legislation
• Cover sickness and holidays where possible

Salary: Up to £10.14 gross per hour plus NHS pension depending on qualification and experience.
