Role Overview & Responsibilities

BI/Data Analyst

Summary

The Green Energy Advice Bureau is one of the UK’s leading Energy Consultancies and, since 2015, has gradually been growing and building a solid reputation within the energy market. The future of our growth lies within our data. We need another BI/Data Analyst to join us on the next phase of our journey, which entails true business intelligence, Robotic Process Automation and smart automation, all whilst providing day-to-day reporting, data quality control and insights.

What we expect from you

- You’re a data geek – you love cleaning it, sourcing it, modelling it, creating it, everything it!

- You know how to gather detailed requirements for any Operational reporting needed throughout the business

- You have experience producing and maintaining a standard set of Operational reporting to track key KPIs and flag areas that need more investigation

- You’re able to provide analysis and insights for senior management on both an ad hoc and scheduled basis in a way that makes sense to them

- You can dig into a CRM and work with a marketing team to identify audience information for key communications

- You know that every report needs to provide a benefit and that they are understood and documented

- You’re happy to work with front-end call centre teams to identify reporting and data that can build efficiency throughout the business

- You understand that priorities are different and are used to basing this on customer and business benefits

- When you close your eyes, you can see the matrix – or at least you understand database structures and how to pull out accurate and insightful data

- You love documenting and continuously improving the customer journey, knowing that this can improve staff productivity, customer experience and business results

- You can’t wait to develop a deep knowledge of the internal CRM system and operational processes – you know that what comes out is only as good as what goes in!

- You have experience in enhancing data and are always on the lookout for ways to improve data quality captured and held by the business

- You’ve worked with a Product Owner/Business Analyst and technical teams to deliver insight alongside all new IT delivery and process change

Who we’re looking for

- Trustworthy. You’ll be privy to confidential information and will be trusted to keep this to yourself

- Resilient. Things can change quickly, and sometimes a lot of effort can go into analysis that turns out to be fruitless. You accept this and are always ready to move on to the next thing

- Multi-tasker. You’ll constantly be moving from one task to another and thrive in a fast-paced and busy world

- Passionate. You’ll be passionate about understanding customer needs and delivering excellent outcomes

- Analytic Problem Solver. You can spot exceptions a mile away and believe every problem has a solution waiting for you to find

- Can Do/Will Do. You have a positive mindset and embrace the unknown whilst keeping the end goal in mind

- Continuous Improver. You believe that everything could be a little bit better and are constantly on the lookout for ways to automate, optimise and improve processes, data, and insights

- Learner. There are so many things to learn out there and you love picking up new skills and learning new ways of doing things

Desired Skillset

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required, particularly Excel

- Proven experience in a MI or BI Analyst role

- Strong relational database understanding

- SQL knowledge, the ability to create your own queries and an interest in learning more

- A history of working with CRMs (or other relational databases) would be advantageous

- Excellent numeric skills and a passion for data analytics and visualisation

- Self-motivated with the ability and desire to consistently work towards tight deadlines and prioritise effectively based on business needs and benefits

- Effective communication, presentation and influencing skills

- Acute attention to detail

- Experience in supporting contact centres or sales teams would be a bonus
