Role Overview & Responsibilities

Main purpose of role:

Responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen. Ensures that all recipes, food preparations, and meets company’s specifications and commitment to quality. Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen which is well documented. Demonstrates this by example, using proper food-handling techniques.

Responsible to:

General Manager

Responsibilities:

· To prepare dishes as per agreed menu.

Ensures that all stations remain stocked before and during the meal period.

· Verifies that kitchen staff follows all recipes and portions servings correctly.

· Keeps kitchen, dish, and storage areas clean and organised.

· Places food and supply orders as directed.

· Liaises with suppliers to ensure best price and quality food.

· To comply with and ensure Health & Safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to by all staff

· Sets excellent customer service and work examples.

· Actively participates as a member of the management team.

· Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Management at any time.

Qualifications:

Knowledge

· College or culinary training or extensive cooking and production experience.

· Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.

· Basic math skills.

· Knowledge of basic training techniques.

· Awareness of COSHH & food safety

· Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration, etc.

· A minimum of 2 years working in a food preparation position.

Skills/Aptitudes

· Professional communication skills, oral and written.

· Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment.

· Works well under pressure.

· Can effectively solve problems.

· Able to take direction.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 16 per week

Pay: £13.00-£20.00 per hour
