Assistant gardener – part time - Alfold, Surrey/ West Sussex border

Learn on the job with an experienced Senior Gardener

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person who is willing to get involved in all aspects of maintaining our garden. The garden itself is some 9 acres comprising herbaceous borders, kitchen garden, greenhouse, polytunnel, ponds, fruit and meadowland.

This is an opportunity to develop your skills and learn from an experienced gardener at the same time.

Some experience is welcome, but a passion for horticulture is a must. You will need the energy, enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to undertake the myriad of tasks involved in garden maintenance including hedging, grass maintenance, tree work, small scale landscaping and construction, equipment maintenance, border maintenance, weeding, pruning, mulching, watering and general tidying.

A driving license is essential.

Hours – we anticipate 24 hours per week.

Salary – Full time equivalent of C. £18-22k based on your level of experience. The role could be offered on an employed or self-employed basis.
