United Learning

The John Roan School is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

The role

  • To deliver 1-2-1 and group tuition to pupils, and to support and promote music within our school.
  • The successful candidate would provide essential support to ensure the continuing success of this exciting initiative.
  • You will be in charge of directing the choir once a week and prepare them for school performances.
  • You must be committed to attending rehearsals and shows when required.
  • You must be an enthusiastic and energetic person with a passion for Music and willing to be proactive in increasing the number of students in the choir

About you

Do you hold a High Degree in Music (Performance and/or Education) or equivalent accreditations on your specialist instrument (Grades / Degree). If you do, then we need you.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. References will automatically be requested for all shortlisted applicants prior to interview. The successful applicant will be required to be DBS and safeguarding checks prior to taking up post.
