Role Overview & Responsibilities

Role
Our client based at the University of Warwick Science Park are looking to add a Scientist to their team.

This is a permanent position with the business and the Salary for the role is £24750.

We are looking for someone to start asap.

Duties and responsibilities
You will be working with the Research & Development team to analyse, generate, collate and present data.

You will be helping to develop products as part of the team, which specialise in Transdermal Patch Technologies.

  • Perform sample analysis and studies as required maintaining high quality standards and in accordance with SOPs
  • Perform data analysis, including use of excel, Origin etc
  • Record all results clearly and precisely in laboratory books and electronic records, ensuring all data is captured
  • Assist in report writing as required
  • Assist in routine maintenance of laboratory and analytical equipment
  • Prepare adequate reagents and supplies for experiments
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, perform maintenance and document as required
  • Ensure all glassware, laboratory and equipment is clean and maintained
  • Ensure correct laboratory waste handling and disposal
  • Maintain the stock inventory, ensuring its appropriately completed and regularly updated and to report low stock supplies to the Laboratory Manager
  • Take responsibility for training records, ensuring they are kept up to date.
  • Keep up to date with Laboratory SOPs and policies, maintain competency in procedures

Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who has

  • A minimum of a BSC in chemical or related sciences OR equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with HPLC, FTIR, NMR and related techniques.
  • The ability to analyse and interpret data using specific analysis packages.
  • A proven track record of working to deadlines (Either academic or in industry)

Additional information
The working hours for the role are Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00.
