Role Overview & Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Principle Physicist to join our Radiotherapy Physics team. The replacement of our fleet of 4 linacs began in 2019 with the installation of 2 Varian Truebeam machines and was completed when our second Halcyon linac became clinical in the summer of 2022. The Trust is working closely with local charities to upgrade the Halcyon linacs so that adaptive radiotherapy can be delivered to the patients of Staffordshire through Varian's Ethos Adaptive Therapy System. In addition to this, several service developments are planned for the coming year including the delivery of advanced SABR. The introduction of these systems into routine use will provide excellent opportunities for personal development.

Applicants should possess a good honours degree in physics with relevant postgraduate experience preferably including a higher degree. Preference will be given to candidates who are HCPC registered with Radiotherapy Physics as their specialty; however consideration will also be given to pre-registered candidates who will be eligible for registration within 18 months.
