Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Astrophoria Foundation Year seeks to appoint a full-time Foundation Year Student Welfare Lead to join the small team delivering the new Astrophoria Foundation Year.
The Welfare Lead will play a lead role in the programme’s welfare provision and contribute to strategic decision making to ensure that the programme supports and enhances the welfare and wellbeing of all its students in the best ways possible and is informed by best practice. They will be the first point of contacts to signpost support and guidance to AFY students and provide second-line support to college welfare teams where applicable.
The Astrophoria Foundation Year is a one-year fully-funded foundation programme for UK state school students with significant academic potential, who have experienced severe personal disadvantage and/or disrupted education which has resulted in them being unable to apply directly for an Oxford undergraduate degree programme.
The post is full-time and fixed-term until 31 July 2028.
The closing date for this role is 12 noon on Monday 3 July 2023, with interviews anticipated to take placed during week commencing 10 July.
