Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Language Centre is the University’s hub for all students and staff who want to improve their language skills. Our learners come from many nationalities and disciplines to take our courses, and the administration team prides itself on providing a friendly, professional and efficient service to applicants, learners, colleges, academic divisions and departments that have queries regarding our timetable and course offerings.
We have three courses administrators, who work collaboratively with fellow members of the administration team, the senior management team and the language tutors, taking responsibility for ensuring the smooth operation of Language Centre courses. They undertake day-to-day financial administration; provide a warm and professional welcome at our reception (on a rota with other members of the team); support the creation of the timetable and class registers; provide basic AV/IT support to staff, especially in the classrooms; and update the Language Centre website.
We have a vacancy for one of these roles, and would love to hear from applicants with significant administrative experience, including in financial administration, and a professional manner. This full-time, permanent post will suit a flexible and enthusiastic administrator with a strong customer-service focus who enjoys team working in a multicultural setting.
Training will be provided on systems used in the Centre.
The post is based at the Language Centre, at 12 Woodstock Road in central Oxford.
Only applications received before 12 noon on 2 June 2023 can be considered.
Interviews are expected to take place at the Language Centre on Tuesday 20 June 2023.
