About us


Ysgol Y Deri is a Special School for pupils aged between 3 and 19 years, which caters for a wide and diverse range of differently able pupils. We have state of the art facilities, and work with every child as an individual, ensuring that their educational and therapeutic needs are met, enabling them to flourish both within our school and when they leave.


About the Role


Pay Details: Grade 4 £21,575 - £22, 369 pro rata

Hours of Work / Weeks per year / Working Pattern: 32.5 hours per week. Term time only

Main Place of Work: Ysgol Y Deri, Sully Road, Penarth


Description:

Are you a friendly and organised individual with a passion for education? We have the perfect opportunity for you to join our amazing team.

Due to expansion, Ysgol Y Deri are interested in recruiting a school administrative assistant to work in the reception area of the school.

General reception duties to include, managing phone calls and emails, providing efficient and professional communication. Maintaining accurate records, including pupil attendance and registration processes. Using school SIMS system in input and update data. Provide administrative support including filing, photocopying and general office duties. Work collaboratively with school staff, parents and pupils to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.


About you


You will need:

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbally and written. Be familiar with the use of IT and be proficient in its use. Be highly organised and have the ability to work as part of a team. Be friendly and approachable with exceptional customer service skills. Be flexible to adapt to a dynamic school environment. Previous experience in an administrative role would be advantageous.

DBS Check Required: Enhanced

EWC Registration Details: It is a statutory requirement that applicants for these posts have to be registered with the Education Workforce Council before they can start work in a school. If you are not already registered further information including how to register can be found at www.ewc.wales
