To be part of the team responsible for the operation of various types of cameras in studios and on outside broadcasts. To provide a high degree of operational and technical expertise as well as a flexible and efficient service to meet the visual and artistic requirements of the Producer, Director.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and rigging of the full range of camera equipment for multi-camera productions.

  • Working with Robotic and manual camera systems including some handheld camera operation on directed multi-camera productions.

  • In-depth understanding of cameras, camera equipment and camera systems.

  • To work effectively with other members of the crew in large and small teams.

  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.

Requirements

  • You must have a high level of competence with studio ped cameras and remote camera systems such as Shotoku.

  • Experience of Jimmy Jibs, Stedicam and PSC would be considered an advantage.

  • A discerning and educated eye and a proven interest in, and knowledge of, photography & broadcast picture composition.

  • Proven experience as a broadcast Camera Operator in either studios or OBs.

  • Experience of working across a range of programmes, both live and recorded.

  • Able to interpret the technical and creative intentions of the director.

  • Experience of the various cameras and mountings you would expect to find in a large studio.

  • Excellent communication skills, tact & diplomacy and be able to establish good working relationships with contributors, colleagues and members of the public.

  • Willingness and ability to embrace new technology and acquire and adapt skills.

  • Willingness to move set items off and on set as required to facilitate the desired look for different shows.

  • The ability to rig appropriate equipment as required.
