Job Description

Job title: Health & Safety Officer

Location: Milton Keynes

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 20 – 25 hours per week

Department: Office

Reporting to: As per Organisational Chart

Substitute: As per Organisational Chart

Job Purpose

To promote a positive Health & Safety culture within the business and support managers to maintain safe systems of working.

Job Role

As Health & Safety Officer, you will be expected to liaise with Department Managers and the

Responsible person to ensure a consistent good H&S standard is followed throughout the business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining all Accident Reports and Near Misses on Bright Safe and

Factory Master.

  • Run the report for accidents and near misses providing the information for the monthly

KPI’s.

  • Responsible for updating H&S documentation.
  • Book training courses for First Aiders and Fire Marshalls.
  • Ensure fire drills are carried out as required.
  • Ensure Department Managers compete regular Risk Assessments.
  • Take meeting minutes.
  • Induct new staff concerning H&S.
  • Carry out DSE assessments
  • Ensure Managers record issued PPE and replace as necessary.
  • Liaise with managers to ensure COSSH and SDS records are maintained.
  • Liaise with the Responsible person to ensure the business always remains compliant with

Legislation and any changes in Legislation are communicated to the business.

  • Use environmentally sustainable practices in accordance with our environmental policy.
  • Seek ways to reduce waste and energy usage in accordance with our environmental objectives.

You may be required to complete other tasks, as required by the business.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • IOSH
  • NEBOSH or equivalent

Experience

  • At least 2 years’ experience within a similar role

Knowledge & Skills

  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good H&S knowledge

£27k - £37k pro rata
