Part Time Delivery Driver/Packer

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are a small award-winning artisan bakery based in Morningside, Broughton Street and Leith, Edinburgh. We have been open for over 13 years, and are considered one of the top bakeries in the city, supplying farmer’s markets and a number of amazing Edinburgh business. We produce a range of very high-quality award-winning breads, biscuits, cakes and pastries from scratch on our premises, using the minimum of ingredients and no pre-mixes, enhancers, improvers or additives.

We currently have 2 vans and three drivers, however one of our great drivers is leaving us so we need to recruit a new person. The role will be for 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) with additional hours to provide holiday cover when needed. Mainly the role is packing orders and making deliveries to our fantastic customers and then cleaning out the van after each shift. The drivers also support us with our farmers markets, delivering and picking up staff, breads and equipment.

This role may suit someone who is recently retired, but still active and physically fit, or a student looking for work to supplement studies (or anyone who is looking for a part-time driving job).

As our new driver, you will work from Leith and will need to -

• be a careful and considerate driver, with a clean driving licence.
• be flexible, as our needs change constantly,
• have very high hygiene standards as you will be working with food
• be physically capable of carrying heavy crates of bread, and
• be polite, with great customer service skills, as you will be the main contact with our wholesale customers
• have immediate availability
• have weekendavailability

Hours

• Shifts from 5am
• over 3 days per week (extra may be required for holiday cover) Friday, Saturday & Sunday,
• Average 16+ hours per week (flexibility is required)

Clean UK driving licence required held for a minimum of 1 year.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 18 per week

Salary: £10.50 per hour
