Technician

Exciting opportunities have arisen to join our Technical team at Loughborough Town Hall as a Technician on a permanent basis.

We are looking to fill 1x full-time 37 hours a week and 2x part-time 18.5 hours a week. Please state which post you wish to apply for on the application under section 5.

Loughborough Town Hall is a multi-purpose receiving house Theatre, Art gallery and venue, set in the heart of Charnwood in Leicestershire and welcoming over 100,000 people per year.

Hosting over 250 performances and events per year, including an award-winning annual pantomime, Loughborough Town Hall has a varied programme attracting nationally acclaimed acts and productions across the world of comedy, drama, musical theatre and beyond.

As an integral part of a dedicated team and working closely with the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the technical aspects of the venue’s performances and events, alongside assisting with the day-to-day running of the department and its stage assets.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, have a good level of experience in technical theatre from either a Sound or Lighting focus, health and safety best practices’ and will put customer service at the centre of what they do.

Good maintenance skills are required, with a good level of experience in theatre lighting/sound, rigging and operation being essential.

The nature of the work will involve the jobholder carrying work outside of normal working hours, with evening and weekend enhancement rates of pay when this is undertaken. The role will also include manual lifting and require a level of physical fitness.
