Senior Kennel Assistant

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for a full time Senior Kennel Assistant to join our team. The role is 5 days a week including a weekend day and bank holidays. The hours are 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.

The role involves

• Cleaning kennels and cat units
• Exercising dogs in all weathers
• Preparing and distributing food including special diets
• Giving medication to both dogs and cats
• Welcoming customers
• Answering phone calls, taking bookings and payments
• Bathing and brushing dogs
• Keeping communal and exterior areas clean and tidy

Requirements

• Must be experienced at working with animals ideally with an animal management diploma
• A good team player but also with the confidence and initiative to work independently
• Good communication skills
• Physically fit as the role is physically demanding
• Reliable and punctual
• Ideally to have your own transport as we are in a rural location
• Above all to have a real passion for giving excellent care to the dogs and cats staying with us

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
