Role Overview & Responsibilities

Who we are:

At Elle’s Bakery we have set out to make the most unique bakes that we offer. What grew from an idea and a ‘side hustle’ baking out of my parents' kitchen alongside university, has now turned into a flourishing small business based in Rochester, Kent. We pride ourselves on fresh, handmade, flavoursome deep dish cookies all containing a core filling, with our most popular cookie being our Kinderella Deep Dish Cookie. Alongside our deep dish cookies, we offer a variety of baked goods including brownies and blondies. Both our brownies and blondies provide a unique, rich and fudgy tasting experience that have your taste buds craving for more.

Schedule:

• Part-time
• Contacted 10 hours per week (2 x 5 hour shifts) with extra hours available
• Flexible working hours
• Hours can range from between 9am-7pm (some weekends/evening hours)
• Variety of shift times and length available

We are looking for:

• Strong attention to details especially when performing quality inspections in relation to ingredients and products.
• Willingness to work independently or with other team members to solve problems, adapt, follow instructions and create amazing baked goods.
• Flexibility to work around customers demands and seasonal holidays.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast paced environment.
• A ‘can do’ attitude, want to roll their sleeves up & get involved & be keen to learn as full training will be given, however some previous experience within the food/retail would be great.

Main roles and key tasks:

• Cleaning and sanitising food preparation areas in accordance with hygiene standards.
• Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and utensils including knives, mixers and ovens.
• Assisting with managing inventory, unloading supplied and organising the stock area.
• Measuring and weighting wet and dry ingredients.
• Measure and combine ingredients using stand mixers, heat sources and other equipment to make baked goods.
• Following instructions and recipes.
• Packaging and labelling products for shipping.
• Creating and tasting new and exciting baked goods.
• Preparing and completing orders for delivery according to the plan.
• Ensuring Health & Safety guidelines/procedures are being adhered to at all times.
• Ensure all products are packed efficiently and labelled correctly.

Required Skills:

• No commercial baking experience required
• Kitchen experience preferred
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Thoroughness and attention to detail
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers
• Follow and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
• Must have good maths skills

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

Salary: £8.75-£10.50 per hour
