Role Overview & Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Peterborough City Council that will allow you to make an impact in a key role as a Revenues and Benefits Contract Monitoring Officer.

As a member of a small team (based in Peterborough or home worker), the role involves a number of key duties including the provision of a quality control function for Housing / Council Tax Benefit, involving client side expertise and knowledge in the checking of Benefit claims and Council Tax support amendments that have been undertaken by the Council’s partner as part of the Peterborough Serco Strategic Partnership. The role also involves close working with partners such as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) on Single Fraud Investigation Service (SFIS) claims.

Local government is currently facing unprecedented financial challenges but at Peterborough City Council, a clear budget strategy combined with a commitment to exemplary standards of financial management will ensure that this challenge is met.

With a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Housing and Council Tax Benefit, you will provide a high quality, professional contract monitoring function across a range of areas in respect of Housing and Council Tax Benefit.

This is a part time vacancy with a maximum of 24 hours per week, with flexibility offered on working pattern and the opportunity to be office based or home working.

Although this is a part time role (up to 24 hours), the full-time equivalent salary scale is £27,852 - £31,099.
