Role Overview & Responsibilities

HEAD LIBRARIAN

Permanent, full time, term-time plus 6 additional weeks.

We have an exciting opportunity at Shrewsbury School for a Head Librarian who will be responsible for providing the leadership and management of the Library service to Shrewsbury School. An important part of this role will be to promote independent learning within the school, working with the Heads of Faculty to support this as part of the overall academic provision.

It is desirable that the successful applicant will have Chartership or Fellowship with CILIP or equivalent, and have achieved a CILIP accredited Library and Information Studies degree or equivalent. Leadership and senior library environment experience is essential in addition to good interpersonal communication and time management skills.
