JOB TITLE Coffee Roaster

The Silver Oak team is all about speciality coffee and we have our roastery just outside of Ely. We are looking for a roaster who is serious about speciality coffee.

This can be a trainee role for the right person, but ideally this person has some knowledge of roasting and coffee production.

This role will also have responsibility for roastery management, packing and getting out orders, and ensuring our coffee outlets have everything they need. It requires someone with the confidence to do commercial support and to develop the wholesale side of the business in time.

You will be joining a great team and can receive intensive training to ensure you are ready to meet our standards.

DETAIL OF ROLE

1. Roast high quality filters for retail

2. Production roasting for commercial customers

3. Pack orders for delivery and for sale

4. Maintain the roastery and stock to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene

5. Order green bean stock and monitor requirements

6. Monitor roasted coffee stocks and implement changes required

7. Work across the Silver Oak Coffee team to help ensure the smooth running of the business

8. Set up and manage regular cuppings, to keep team up to date with new coffees in order to be able to sell and make recommendations to customers

13. Participate in a reviews and development as requested

14. Carry out duties as requested

PERSON SPECIFICATION

1. Passion for and knowledge of speciality coffee

2. Good understanding of the science of roasting or potential to learn.

3. Honesty and ability to work with integrity

4. High personal standards of cleanliness and professional appearance

8. A good standard of English and Maths

9. The ability to work independently on own initiative

10. Ability to drive

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £21,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
